From choreographed dances, to outfit changes, to other surprises that I will not spoil, they were such a crowdpleaser and absolutely one of the brightest highlights of our weekend.

Certified Original Lineup
The same band at every destination wedding
Uptown Drive is not a roster of whoever is free that night. The musicians in our videos are the musicians who fly to your wedding, led by Greg from the grand entrance to the sendoff.
Rehearsed as one band
The same core musicians play every show, so every cue, transition and special dance lands the way you planned it
Greg, start to finish

Custom live sax EDM grand entrances for the bride, groom and wedding party
Your reception entrance should feel like a headline act. We build a custom live grand entrance for every couple, from the wedding party introductions to the moment you walk in as newlyweds.
Pick your grand entrance song or a mashup of two. We arrange it for the band, cue every couple and groomsmen entrance on the beat, and Greg emcees the introductions so every name lands. Want the DJ to drop the track and live sax to take it from there? That one is a guest favorite.
It is the most requested wedding entrance moment we play, and it sets the dance floor energy for the rest of the night

Live father-daughter dance and special dances with custom arrangements
The father-daughter dance, the mother-son dance, your first dance and the anniversary dance all hit differently when they are played live.
We love performing every special dance with the full band, shaped to your timing. Planning a surprise father-daughter dance medley or a choreographed routine? Send us your cut and we write a custom arrangement, so every tempo change, pause and big finish lands exactly where you rehearsed it.
List your special dance songs on your planning worksheet and we will learn the ones that mean the most to your family

A choreographed reception show with costume changes and a packed dance floor
This is where we earn the packed dance floor. Our vocalists perform choreographed dance sets, change costumes through the night and take the show out onto the floor with your guests.
Expect crowd call-and-response, sax solos, dance floor medleys and a high-energy live performance from the first set to the last song, with DJ music between sets so the party never stops.
Every detail is rehearsed, from the lighting cues to the last-song frenzy built around the two of you. It is a full wedding reception show, not background music

Destination weddings
Planning a destination wedding with a live band
A destination wedding asks more of a band than a hometown reception. We fly in from Austin as one complete team, the same musicians from our videos plus our own audio engineer, sound and lighting, and Greg plans your timeline with your planner and venue months ahead.
Flights and lodging in one quote
Flights, hotel rooms and ground transportation for the band and crew are built into a single quote, so there are no surprise add-ons. The band is loaded in, soundchecked and dressed before your guests arrive.
Planned remotely, run on site
Most destination couples plan with us by phone and video call. You watch full performance videos of the exact lineup you are booking, and our team confirms the rider, power, load-in and sound rules with your venue in advance.
Resort dates book first
Destination dates are set early around resort blocks and guest travel. Most couples book 8 to 14 months out, as soon as the venue and date are set, so we can hold the date and plan the whole wedding weekend with your planner.

FAQs
Destination wedding band FAQs
Straight answers for couples and planners hiring a live band for a wedding away from home. Have a question we missed? Send your date and destination and we will answer it.
What is a destination wedding band?
A destination wedding band is a wedding band that travels to where you marry instead of playing only its home market. Uptown Drive is a luxury destination wedding band based in Austin, Texas. It flies the same musicians, audio engineer, sound system and stage lighting to every reception, so your destination wedding entertainment is the band you watched on video.
Where has Uptown Drive played destination weddings?
Aspen, Vail and Beaver Creek in Colorado, Napa Valley, San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco in California, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Santa Fe, Amelia Island in Florida, Bentonville in Arkansas, Playa del Carmen in Mexico and Aruba. Venues include The St. Regis Aspen Resort, Four Seasons Resort Vail, Auberge du Soleil, Hotel del Coronado, Rosewood Mayakoba and The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba.
Does Uptown Drive play destination weddings outside the United States?
Yes. Uptown Drive has played destination weddings at The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba and Rosewood Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. For any other international destination, send your venue and date and the team confirms travel, equipment and venue requirements before quoting.
How does travel pricing work for a destination wedding band?
Uptown Drive builds flights, lodging and ground transportation for the band and crew into one quote, so there are no surprise add-ons. Send your date, destination and venue through the contact page for a quote.
Should we fly in a band or hire a local band at our destination?
Fly in a band when you want a proven lineup you have seen on video and one team that plans with you remotely. Hire local when travel costs outweigh the difference. Uptown Drive flies in as a complete team with travel built into the quote.
Is the band at our destination wedding the same band in the videos?
Yes. Uptown Drive is a Certified Original Lineup, so the same core musicians perform at every contracted wedding and appear in every performance video. The reviews you read were earned by the musicians who fly to your wedding.
What is included when Uptown Drive plays a destination wedding?
Live dance sets, DJ music between sets, a curated cocktail hour and dinner soundtrack, a custom grand entrance, an emcee, an audio engineer, a professional sound system, stage lighting and planning of your timeline and emcee script with you and your planner.
What makes a luxury, high-end wedding band worth flying in?
A polished show for a formal room: a consistent lineup of professional musicians, live horns, an emcee who runs the timeline, an audio engineer, professional sound and lighting and DJ music between sets so the dance floor never goes quiet. Uptown Drive performs black-tie weddings in formal attire at resorts, estates and luxury hotels.
Can you play the whole wedding weekend?
Yes. Uptown Drive can cover the welcome party, rehearsal dinner, reception and after-party with the right lineup for each, from a smaller lineup or DJ set to the full band with horns, planned in one proposal.
How far in advance should we book a destination wedding band?
Book 8 to 14 months ahead. Destination dates are set early around resort blocks and guest travel, and popular spring and fall weekends go first. If your date is closer, contact Uptown Drive anyway.
How do we plan a destination wedding with a band we have not met?
Watch full performance videos of the exact lineup you are booking, read recent reviews and plan by phone or video call. Greg plans your timeline, special dances and emcee script remotely with you and your planner.
What does a traveling band need from the venue?
Load-in access, power, a stage or performance area and the day-of timeline. Uptown Drive's technical rider lists everything, and the team confirms it with your venue and planner in advance, including any sound limits or curfew.
Can you play outdoor, beach and mountain weddings?
Yes. Uptown Drive plays outdoor and tented receptions and plans power, weather cover and volume with your venue and planner, from mountain resorts in Aspen and Vail to beachfront resorts in Aruba and Coronado.
Do you work with destination wedding planners?
Yes. Uptown Drive works with wedding planners and resort event teams on the timeline, emcee script, load-in and vendor coordination, and keeps the planner updated through the day.
