Questions About Our Videos
Are these videos from real events?
Yes. Every Uptown Drive video was filmed at a real wedding, corporate event, gala, conference, festival or concert where the band performed, plus a short Meet the Band introduction. None of them are studio productions or stock footage.
Why don't some videos use the band's live audio?
Some of our videos use generic audio and some use the actual audio from our events. It's tough to post cover songs online because YouTube's copyright algorithms sometimes flag our live performances of popular songs as if we were using the original recordings, which is a little flattering if it's confusing our performance with the original artist. The trouble is that repeated flags can take down an entire channel, and recovering one after a dispute is a lengthy and laborious process, so we're selective about the live audio we post.
Can we see Uptown Drive perform live before booking?
Public shows are listed on our upcoming events page. Most Uptown Drive performances are private weddings and corporate events, so a visit to one of those is only possible with the host's permission. Ask Greg and he will let you know what is coming up near you.
Will the band in the videos be the band at my event?
Yes. Uptown Drive performs with a Certified Original Lineup, so the musicians in these videos are the musicians on your stage, never a substitute band sent under our name. Meet the band.
What kind of music does Uptown Drive play?
Uptown Drive is a high-energy live dance band covering Motown, soul, funk, disco, 80s and 90s favorites, pop, hip hop and country. Browse the full song catalog. The band also learns special requests, and first dances, father and daughter dances and mother and son dances can be performed live.

Uptown Drive Interactive is our interactive show, a hybrid of a high-energy dance band and live band karaoke. Guests sing lead with the full band while scrolling lyrics and an experienced host keep the show moving. It has played brand activations at SXSW, CMA Fest and F1 FanFest.
